How the calculations were derived

Conversion factors were provided form VCR Inc Challenge Registry Guide to Entity & Facility Reporting - Unit Conversion Tables

1The total amount of CO2 fixed over the lifetime of the tree. In these estimates we have assumed a life of 80 years, since after this age, a typical tree in Canada requesters little additional CO2.

2The number of trees is based on the amount of CO2 removed annually by trees that have been planted. This removal would occur for 80 years.

3Average consumption of 8 litres/100km.

4Average consumption of 6 litres/100km.

5Average consumption of 4 litres/100km.
