TTC Subway Closures Could Disrupt Your Weekend Plans


Subway Closures on Line 1: Sheppard-Yonge to College

Full Weekend Shutdown: Saturday, May 24 – Sunday, May 25
No trains will operate between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations as TTC crews carry out extensive maintenance, including track switch replacements at York Mills and key repair work along the line.

  • Shuttle buses will replace subway service and stop at every station in the affected area.
  • Accessibility support via Wheel-Trans is availableβ€”speak to TTC staff if needed.
  • Closed Stations: Lawrence and Summerhill
  • Open for access: All other stations remain open for PRESTO services and surface transfers.
  • Normal service resumes: Monday, May 26 at 6 a.m.

Early Nightly Closures: May 26–30 on Line 1

Monday to Friday next week, trains will stop running early between Sheppard-Yonge and College at 11 p.m. nightly.

  • Shuttle buses will be running.
  • Lawrence and Summerhill stations remain closed during these early shutdowns.
  • All other stations stay open for surface connections and fare purchases.

Single-Track Subway Service: May 26–29 (Late Night Delays)

Between Finch West and Pioneer Village from 11 p.m. until end of service:

  • Only one track will be in use.
  • Expect up to 20-minute delays.
  • Riders may need to switch trains at Finch West.
  • Full service resumes at 6 a.m. each following day.

Bus Diversions This Weekend: Construction & City Events

66B Prince Edward Bus:

Detour in effect from Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 11 a.m.

  • Due to bridge work at Park Lawn Rd. and the Gardiner Expressway.

Santo Cristo Festival (Queen to King on Bathurst)

Expect delays on the 511 Bathurst route from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Queens Quay Area – Friday Night to Saturday Morning (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.)

  • Affects routes: 65 Parliament, 75 Sherbourne, 114 Queens Quay, 202 Cherry Beach, 365 Parliament

Wellington Street – Sunday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Affects: 114 Queens Quay East, 121 Esplanade-River, 202 Cherry Beach, 320 Yonge Night Bus
