New ServiceOntario Location in Brampton Streamlines Licence and Health Card Renewals Amid Growing Demand

Brampton Gets New ServiceOntario Location for Faster Licence and Health Card Renewals

Brampton residents now have a more convenient option for renewing government-issued IDs and accessing essential provincial services.

A new ServiceOntario location has officially opened inside Peel Region’s headquarters at 10 Peel Centre Drive, right next to Bramalea City Centre. This centralized hub will allow residents to renew their driver’s licences, health cards, and Ontario Photo Cards more efficiently, responding to the surge in demand that has recently overwhelmed existing ServiceOntario offices across the city.

Expanded Services in a High-Traffic Area

The new site, which operates Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., was launched as part of the province’s push to improve customer service and reduce wait times. It’s expected to handle up to 60,000 visitors in its first year, helping ease the pressure on Brampton’s overburdened ServiceOntario network.

Government officials say the location was carefully selected to maximize accessibility and customer convenience. Situated next to a major shopping centre and close to the Bramalea Terminal, it’s easily reachable by both pedestrians and public transit users.

A Collaborative Solution to Meet Growing Needs

“This new ServiceOntario centre reflects our government’s commitment to improving how Ontarians access critical services,” said Stephen Crawford, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. “By partnering with Peel Region, we’re integrating municipal and provincial services into a single, convenient community hub that enhances service quality and customer satisfaction.”

As Brampton continues to grow—currently one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities—the demand for government services has skyrocketed. Long lineups and limited appointment availability have become a common frustration for residents. The provincial government hopes this new initiative will be the first of many steps to modernize service delivery.

A Pilot Project with Big Potential

The Brampton hub is part of a two-year pilot program aimed at exploring new ways to deliver services more effectively. The goal? To test models that optimize resources, shorten wait times, and improve the in-person experience—especially in high-growth urban areas like Brampton.

“This is a major step forward in how we deliver services to our residents,” said Peel Region Chair Nando Iannicca, who highlighted the benefits of combining municipal and provincial support systems under one roof. “This hub creates a more integrated, accessible experience for the people of Peel.”

What You Can Do at the New Location

At the new ServiceOntario location inside Peel Region headquarters, Brampton residents can:

  • Renew or replace a driver’s licence
  • Renew or replace a health card
  • Apply for or renew an Ontario Photo Card
  • Access other select provincial services

The Bigger Picture

With this pilot program, the Ontario government is testing new models of community-based service delivery that may be replicated in other municipalities in the future.

For now, Brampton residents can enjoy a more convenient, less stressful experience when managing their government documentation—just one more way the province is responding to the changing needs of a growing city.
